Sitemap Generator
We follow the links on your site the way a search engine does and list every page that loads and is allowed in search. Pages marked noindex or pointing their canonical elsewhere are left out.
What it checks
4 things, in plain words
- Pages that load. only pages that answer with a normal page; broken pages and redirects are left out
- Pages allowed in search. pages marked noindex are left out, as Google would skip them
- The right address for each page. when a page names a different canonical address, only that address is listed
- Your robots.txt. we follow your rules for our crawler and stop where you ask us to
Questions
Before you start
What do I do with the file?
Upload sitemap.xml to the top folder of your website, then add its address in Google Search Console under Sitemaps. Our free connection can submit it for you.
How many pages does it include?
Up to 200 pages per run, which covers most small business websites.
Does my site need a sitemap?
Google finds most pages through links, but a sitemap helps it find new and deep pages sooner, and it is where Search Console reports indexing problems.
